PUNTA UMBRÍA
Punta Umbría is located in front of the waters of the Atlantic and on the banks of the Odiel River, a fishing town surrounded by wide beaches and large natural spaces. The Andalusian town, is located just 17 km from Huelva capital, it has good road access and is just over 100 km from the international airports of Seville and Faro. Due to its rich landscapes, its mild climate and a renewed tourist infrastructure, Punta Umbría has become a benchmark on the Andalusian coast with many tourist attractions.
NATURAL SPACES
It is worth mentioning the Odiel Marshes , declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1983, and which constitute the second most important wetland on the Iberian Peninsula after the Doñana National Park, the Los Enebrales Natural Area , which forms along more than 3 kilometers a spectacular virgin beach bordered by a forest of pines, junipers and dunes, where birds, chameleons and small mammals roam freely, the Laguna del Portil Natural Area , a spectacular and beautiful coastal lagoon bordered by a forest of pines and with a rich fauna made up of birds, chameleons, reptiles and small mammals.
BEACHES
Punta Umbría has more than 14 kilometers of wide beaches of Atlantic waters and fine golden sands, which year after year are awarded several blue flags, their main qualities, their great width and the shallow depth of their waters, which allow you to enter many meters into the water on foot. With an average annual temperature around 18 degrees, Punta Umbría offers many possibilities to enjoy the waters of the Atlantic. Among them, those that stand out are El Portil Beach, La Bota Beach or Matanegra Beach .
MONUMENTS
Although the historical heritage of Punta Umbría does not stand out as much as the natural places that surround it, we can find monuments such as the Torre Almenara (watchtower that was formerly used to defend the town from pirate attacks), the Monument Homage to Pedro Gil Mazo , the Town Hall or the House Museum of the English, a construction inspired by the old English colonial houses.
